Hidden Gems in Southern California

Tourist attractions in Southern California, including San Diego, Disneyland, Los Angeles, and Santa Barbara, attract many tourists. All these are great places to travel, but if you are looking for a different place, then it does a little more work. Check out the following great destinations:

channel Islands

My husband and I spend most of my life in California but somehow remember these fantastic islands. After watching some great photos on the Internet, I rode a small boat from Oxnard to Anacapa Island as part of a weekend anniversary tour.

If you decide to go, please prepare and bring your supplies. This journey is for good and courageous people. You need to climb 157 stairs on top of this little island without flushing without food, service, water, or toilet. Now I do not like to go, but I am talking to you – the views of rocky beaches, huge rocks, and jagged tops are worth it. With the inspiration point, you can easily get around the edge of the island in just a few hours.

We toured in June Brightly wildflowers burst and cover small islands, and thousands of beautiful gulls are found everywhere. Be careful with their protective mother who will shake your head when it comes very close.

We returned a few years later and visited the big island of Santa Cruz for an exciting Kayaking trip to the historic sea caves. While riding the boat we saw dolphin whales and two big schools. Water can be rough on some points, but caves were very good. It was a lifetime experience.

Some believe that the islands are desolate, but if they keep the nature of adventure and love, the Channel Islands are considered to be the North American Galapagos Islands.

Huntington Botanical Gardens

This is another great place we have not seen for decades. In the spectacular grounds of Pasadena, there are dozens of beautiful gardens, 120 acres of land. It is difficult to say which garden is the most glamorous, but the Japanese Garden, Rose Garden, and the California Garden are my favorites.

I did not get the opportunity to check the art gallery Huntington Museum Art is equipped with 18th and 19th Century British paintings, statues and decorative art as well as famous Blue Boy. And as an author, I, unfortunately, did not visit The Huntington Library, one of the largest and most complete research libraries in the United States.

next time.

Ventura County Wine Trail

Wine in California can attract attention to Napa as a country, but my husband and I enjoy the way through the coastal hills near the coastal city of Ventura, we have about 20 wineries and tasting rooms Two of them visited.

You can book one of the many wine tours offered. However, we decided to get a map and find out on our own. I left Ventura at the intersection of Highway 1 and Highway 101 and turned Highway 33 towards Ojai.

From “the smallest post office in the United States” to the last place, anyone saw James Dean alive, it is surprising that this is the lone and the lucrative way. Our favorite search was the Old Creek Winery. We enjoyed a glass of wine with an American view and an outdoor picnic on the table.

Well, Ozai and Ventura are a great place to enjoy exotic activities with charming Ryokan, superb hot springs and snacks. During the summer, Ventura Harbor Village is the center of the weekend festival and live music activities.

Laguna Beach

This charming beach city is halfway between Los Angeles and San Diego. With more than 20 sights, this beach area offers everything from surfing, paddle boarding, snorkeling, kayaking and whale watching.

Be careful, surfing can be rough in some places. As a teenager, I decided to surf the body despite the intense water and washed up with a big wave (think the middle boyz song: Hehehehe wipe the piss!). Since I had surfed everything with the song, so I grew up like a surfer girl to make it romantic, I blamed the Beach Boyz for this whole tragedy. Yes, they are their mistakes.

However, the scenery is not winning. Take pictures by adding super chic restaurants and shops and a unique art gallery. There is also the Baby Boomer Club for Saturday Night Dance. Every summer, they host Laguna Woodstock, wherein 1969 the generations of the Baby Boomers made a similar kind of party.

The Hesler Park is located north of the main beach, located half a mile walk along the oceanic street with stunning views of the beach and retreating waves. You can take one of the beaches and tidal pool ways. There are lots of benches, picnic tables and barbecues with spectacular views. Hubby and I had a picnic in the grassy area, but it was perfect!

Treasure Island Park is located in the 5-star Montage Laguna Beach Arena. Some of the well-maintained, observing decks are easy to walk on curved paths. You can reach the beach with stairs and ramps. On the beach, you can walk through the beautiful rock archives in high tide, sunbathe on the beach or use tidal pools. There is also a lot of grass on the picnic. I would recommend bringing some liquor and paneer to catch a romantic sunset.

Big bear lake

Because I live in the desert, the nearby Big Bear is a wonderful mountainous escape with its wonderful lake and ancient forest. In this large and spacious village, there are few activities, boating, fishing and walking.

Last summer, my husband and I were driving cycling around the lake, enjoying a picnic, under an alpine slide, driving a go-cart with a top speed of 30 MPs, and for wonderful scenes, A beautiful empty chair was riding. We see people coming down from the sidewalk and seeing a mountain bike next time in our To-do list.

Parasailing and ziplining are also possible for the heart’s thrill.

Eramadar beach

Looking for a fantastic beach with white sandy beaches, huge rocks, crumbling waves, and translucent rock structures?

Do not see anything other than the El Matador in the north of Malibu, off the winding Pacific Coast Highway. Look closely at Broad Beach and Decker Canyon Road, because it is easy to remember the small brown mark while pointing to the small parking lot on the trailhead. Once you find it, make preparations to move 150 feet full with the help of some stairs.

It is not suitable for young children or people with physical disabilities, but if you can do this, you will see breathtaking scenes. The locals know about this beach, and you are seeing some photoshoots – we did!

There is not much to do on this small but magnificent beach. Find a hidden nook and enjoy an incredibly romantic setting with a picnic lunch or a glass of wine.

Redondo Beach

So far, you probably noticed that my husband and I were burning on the beach. Before jumping out of LAX the next morning, I accidentally found this beach while searching for a nearby place to stop at night.

Redondopia is a milestone that offers panoramic sea views and harbor water activities such as port cruises, seasonal whale watching, kayaking, pedal boards, and pedal boats. The truth is, we did not try any of these, but we loved the scene on Tony’s pier, where we enjoyed happy hours!

Ghat is a love of 16 ft white shark house which is known as Georgette and is displayed in the big tank of Shark Attack to the Pier. If you have a grandson with you, or you are young in your heart, then you are a semi-submarine yellow submarine (no, I may get stuck in my head to see under the water of local sea life) Take it.

For departure and arrival in Los Angeles, please stay at the airport hotel.

Catalina Island

This island is more famous than my previous recommendations but is a passionate favorite. My husband and I spent my honeymoon there 40 years ago and came back after some time. This is a quaint little island, with no stoplights or fast food restaurants. Unique traffic jams include two golf carts and two bicycles.
